JEANIE RAPP
Artistic Director/Founder
Jeanie earned her M.F.A. in acting at the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco and performed both in California and New York. She also earned a MSEd. at Fordham University. Prior to her acting and producing career in NYC, Jeanie was an assistant to the dramaturg at the American Repertory Theatre in Cambridge, MA and later she was executive assistant to the Artistic Director at the Shakespeare Theatre in Washington, D.C. Producing credits in New York include off Broadway productions: Miss Julie, the first New York revival of The Kathy and Mo Show, and All in the Timing. She directed Just What I Meant to Say.
Jeanie is the founder and Artistic Director of Margreta Stage Company which developed from her 2005 project called The Read Thru into today’s fully fledged non-profit theater company.
Jeanie has either directed, produced or acted in more than a dozen readings and mainstage productions since the theater’s inception (You Can’t Take It With You, The Women, Worth Avenue, Trying on Shorts, The Nibroc Trilogy: Last Train to Nibroc, See Rock City, Gulf View Drive, The Man Who Came to Dinner, The Farm, A Conflict of Fragrances, Wild Black Yonder, Let Us Now Praise Famous Men). In addition to its mainstage productions, Jeanie created a playreading series featuring new plays, informal company building workshops open to the theater community at large and Margreta Stage Studio which offers professional theater classes to the Shoreline Community. Jeanie is also a teacher and private acting coach at MS Studio.
